Our New Logo…
You may be wondering why i’m blogging at 5am? Or you may not have noticed the time this entry went on-line? (Or perhaps you just don’t care… which is fair enough because you didn’t log on here to read about insomnia, after all)!
Well…for the minority who are (at best, mildly curious); the truth is that I have been up all night trying to complete another spread-sheet for our lottery application. The lovely girl (Susanne) who used to do all the clever maths type stuff is not very well (poor her). And I am… erm… working outside of my own ability, to put it mildly!
This is what I don’t understand; my horizontal columns all add up. My vertical columns all add up. My final, total amount does not! Why? Why?!!! And the margin of error is not a few pence, it is hundreds and thousands of pounds!
…So if any nocturnal mathematicians stumble across this, or… you know… of you just happen to be an accountant (or an A-level maths student; I’m not fussy)! Then please, pleeeaaaaze call me right now!
You have my number; I know it’s the middle of the night – I don’t care! I’ll pay you! If you can make my spread-sheet work before 9am I’ll give you £100! (My own money of course – not charity funds!!!) OR I’ll take you out for dinner. Just HELP ME!
The photograph of me (above ) was taken by Graham in Sri Lanka. It’s not the bast picture (but it was taken at night so I thought i’d continue the theme). If only I knew a Sri Lankan mathermatician… It is day time there now… (mmm… it will soon be day time here too. GrrrRR).
That aside, I thought I’d cheer my sleepy self up by posting our wonderful new logo! I LOVE it! I have been soooooo excited waiting for the finished version! Well, what do you think?
The logo was designed by Joanne Broda and Susanne Barrett. Susanne is a close friend of mine (we lived together at uni). She knew me many, many years ago when I suffered from an e.d. and – of course – she knew my darling Graham. Joanne is in recovery from anorexic and bulimia and received intensive treatment in Germany. She has been symptom free for almost a year now. And she is beautiful! Both Susanne and Joanna spent many months designing and perfecting our logo – free of charge – because they believe in the importance of the graham menzies foundation. I am deeply grateful (more about them later) xxx
A little bit of trivia… over a thousand people are reading this blog every single day! It’s 5am and 350 people have already checked-in (and remember… if any of you happen to be good at maths)…
On the other hand…if you are going to sleep, then nos da, sweet dreams, rest well.
Wenna x
